Perpetual F is more than just a film company it is a credo, a way of life and a call to action. It tells us never to be satisfied with others’ assessment of our position in life or better yet never be satisfied with your own assessment. There is alway room to improve, if not today tomorrow.
That’s what we strive for in film. We’re about striving for the purest form of the craft. The film that makes people laugh, cry, learn, grow and improve. That’s not easy. We know that. But we’ll keep trying until we get it right. Then we’ll try to do it better.
We’re a small but ambitious company lead by long-time news reporter Ed Fletcher. Ed began exploring screenwriting in 2011. He also performs comedy and is an active participant in the Burning Man community.
After a successful career in music, Damen Quincy Hayes is an emerging film talent. While sound was the natural bridge from music to film — he served as the sound engineer for the upcoming feature release “Nowhere Nevada” — he has a sharp eye and is establishing himself as a director.
DQ attended Cal State Northridge before embarking on a decade-long career as a professional saxophonist for the rock-reggae group Shakedown. In 2009 he left the industry and enrolled at The Art Institute of Sacramento.
His 2016 short film Le Chapeau Génial (director/editor) received an award of distinction at the 2016 Sacramento International Film Festival.
Longtime Sacramento Bee reporter Ed Fletcher looks to follow a long line of journalists who have transitioned into writing for film.
As an emerging screenwriter, Ed brings a rare mix of professionalism, fortitude, drive, and collaborative skills to bring those stories to the screen.
As a writer and producer, Ed is not one to be typecast. His projects have tackled zombie outbreaks, gender identity, adolescent yearnings, mascot abduction, and free expression. His 2016 short film Le Chapeau Génial (writer/producer) received an award of distinction at the 2016 Sacramento International Film Festival.
Ed’s creative exploration has included performing improv and stand-up comedy as well as attending the Burning Man counterculture festival annually. He’s an active member of the community and serves on the local community cable channel board of directors.
After growing up in Sacramento’s suburbs, he attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He returned to Sacramento in 2000 as a staff writer at The Bee.
